First announced back in December, the new .44 Magnum version of the Chiappa Firearms Rhino revolver made its official global debut at the 2026 edition of SHOT Show. A scaled-up version of the now legendary .357 design – featuring the same exact working system and technical layout, only significantly beefed up to handle the new hotter chambering with full confidence – the .44 Magnum Rhino is built on a steel 6-shots cylinder and 6-inch barrel on a 7075-T6 frame, barrel shroud and sighting rib, all topped with a Hogue black rubber grip.

All variants feature a full-length top and bottom Picatinny rail for optics and accessories; a fixed fiber-optic front sight and a rear adjustable fiber-optic sight; a set of finger stops on both sides of the frame; a redesigned trigger guard and faux hammer/cocking lever; and a redesigned barrel shroud and sighting rib. The combination makes the new "L-Frame" Chiappa 60DS Rhino .44 Magnum revolvers excellent for target or silhouette shooting, home and property defense, large-game hunting, or protection against aggressive predators in the great outdoors.

Six variants have been displayed so far: two standard matte black and nickel versions; a Cerakote gold version; a PVD-coated version in Chiappa's quintessential Nebula shimmering finish; and two limited editions – dubbed the Special and the Elite, available in 440 and 44 numbered samples respectively – featuring unique finish and accouterments for the most demanding collectors.

The Chiappa Firearms Rhino .44 Magnum Special Edition revolver features a black Hogue grip and a full navy blue Cerakote finish with laser-etched elements inspired by the U.S. flag, and comes in a proprietary injection-molded secure transport case with black foam padding, with a trigger lock, dedicated Rhino .44 Magnum patch, instruction manual, and certificate of authenticity.

With only 440 samples available worldwide, the Chiappa Firearms Rhino .44 Magnum Special Edition revolver stands as both a technical showcase and a patriotic collector’s piece.

Even more unique, the Chiappa Firearms Rhino .44 Magnum Elite Edition revolver will be available in only 44 samples worldwide, its unique architecture enhanced by a likewise unique visual design inspired by low-poly aesthetics and by the quintessential hide texture of the eponymous African rhino this revolver borrows its name from: hand-applied polygonal-shaped graphics, softened to echo the patterning of the new revolver’s distinctive sighting rib windows, result in a modern, sculptural take of strength and elegance.

Each sample features a different combination and pattern of colored polygons, meaning each one of the 44 Rhino Elite Edition revolvers will be unique, impossible to replicate, and a testament to Chiappa Firearms’ dedication to the craftsmanship of master Italian gunmakers and engravers.

Each sample comes issued from factory with a dedicated Rhino .44 patch, user manual, certificate of authenticity, and a bespoke display case machined from a solid block of 7075-T6 lightweight aluminum alloy, custom-painted to match the revolver’s color pattern, and lined with black premium Italian leather. The case provides not only secure storage but a striking display option for premium gun collections.
