Earlier on in November 2024, the Savage Arms company discontinued the manufacturing of the Stance concealed carry handgun and replaced it with a new and improved version of the design: the Savage Arms Stance XR 9mm Luger semi-automatic pistol.
Like the baseline Stance, Savage Arms' new Stance XR handgun is an elaboration on the Honor Defense single-stack pistols series sold on the US civilian market a few years back, albeit with a few improvements over its functionality and capabilities as a concealed carry and personal, home, and property protection firearm, starting with a flush-fit 10-rounds magazine or an extended 13-rounds magazine.

The Savage Arms Stance XR pistol is built around a black, shadow grey, or flat dark earth polymer frame with an aggressive slip-proof stippling on all contact surfaces, a Picatinny rail for tactical accessories, interchangeable grip backstraps, and fully ambidextrous magazine catch and slide stop.
A striker-fired handgun, the Stance XR offers a short, crisp trigger pull with a short reset; the trigger face is well rounded and features a "Glock-style" safety. Alternatively, the Savage Arms Stance XR pistol is also available with an ambidextrous frame-mounted manual safety.
The nitride black stainless steel slide of the Savage Arms Stance XR pistol features a set of aggressive front and rear slide serrations, and two sets of compensation cuts to keep the overall weight down to 623 grams (22 oz.) when empty.
Also issued from factory with each Stance XR pistol are a set of three-dot or tritium XS Sights, and Savage Arms' own QRO ("Quick-Release Optics") optics-ready interface compatible with mounting plates for most micro red dot sights, allowing optics to be easily installed and removed by merely pushing a pin on the rear slide end cap with a pin punch instead of dealing with easily stripped set screws.
Standing at 157 mm / 6.2" in overall length and merely 2,43 cm / 0.96" in overall width, the Savage Arms Stance XR comes from factory with a 8,1 cm / 3.2" stainless steel barrel with six right-handed grooves and a 1:10" twist rate, as well as with a double captive recoil spring.
Manufacturer's suggested retail price on the US market starts at $469 for the baseline Stance XR pistol, going up to $539 for the tritium sights models and $659 for samples issued from factory with a Crimson Trace CTS-1500 micro red dot sight.
