In the USA, Cimarron Firearms is one of the most relevant (and historical) distributors of replica western firearms. For Cimarron, Uberti has always manufactured both excellent historical models reproductions, and limited series models specific to the US market. The revolver you see in this pages stands among the latter, and Uberti made it as per Cimarron request, to celebrate the 125th anniversary of foundation of the Texas Rangers Association, which was created in 1897 and has today become a foundation.

The Uberti/Cimarron “125th Anniversary Former Texas Rangers Association” is a classical replica of the Colt 1873 Single Action chambered for the .45 Colt cartridge, with a 4" 3/4 barrel, a selected walnut grip, exclusive FTRA serial numbering and is richly engraved with a theme that faithfully copies the original held by the FTRA, apart from minor variations allowing for the writings on the barrel, and a blank grip backstrap for custom engraving of the owner’s name or other text.

The guns are laser etched and reprised by hand for full engraving depth and shading, a comparatively complex process that yelds excellent end results with a more affordable price tag.

The first, "reference" gun has been hand engraved by Flavia Sanzogni, daughter of master engraver Renato Sanzogni, historical engraver that has signed many of Uberti's finest firearms.

Starting from this hand engraved gun, all other specimens of the first 50 gun lot (but more will probably be manufactured) have been laser engraved and the hand finished by engravers of the famous Cesare Giovanelli engraving shop, another great, world renowned master engraver that has been active in Val Trompia practically since forever.

In short, we are looking at an industrial replica, sure, but with a quality level that only Uberti is still able to provide as of today: after all, the celebration of the Texas Rangers Association is not a trifling matter. On the contrary, it's an extremely important event for the american enthusiasts.

Founded in 1897, after a meeting in Austin, Texas, of the surviving members of the old Texas Rangers Force organized by former Texas Ranger Captain John S. “Rip” Ford, the Former Texas Ranger Association includes Ex-Rangers who has been honorably discharged from the service, has social and benevolent purposes and preserves and collects the history of the Texas Rangers.

While 2022 is the 125th anniversary of the founding of the Former Texas Rangers Association, its worth mentioning that 2023 will be the 200th anniversary of the founding of the Texas Rangers themselves.

Should we expect a Texas Rangers 200th anniversary commemorative revolver?
We can't say, but meanwhile celebrations in Texas have already started in March, while Texas Rangers' hunt for bad guys never stopped, and goes on today with the same, unfaltering american proudness.
