SHOT Show 2020 – The Columbia River Knife & Tool company expands its line of knifes for 2020 with the launch of several new variants of the Provoke fast-deploy Karambit, as well as of three new new pocket models: the M40-02, the Minimalist Cleaver, and the Tuna
The new CRKT M40-02 folding knife
The year 2020 marks the launch of a new whole line of knives by CRKT; with folding or fixed blades, the new CRKT knives for 2020 are a promise of quality, reliability and practicality for EDC, outdoors, and professional uses.
New for 2020 is the CRKT M40-02 knife, a legacy of the late Kit Carson, who passed away in 2014. The M40-02 knife is a reimagination of Kit Carson's flagship design, reimagined with features such as the innovative, strong and simple to use Deadbolt locking mechanism combined with the IKBS ball-bearing pivot system, allowing this flipper to provide a smooth and fast deployment.
The CRKT M40-02 knife features a 7,46 cm / 2.937" plain edged, bead-blasted, 1.4116 steel blade that makes it 17,46 cm / 6.875" open and 10,02 cm / 3.946" folded; the glass-reinforced nylon and 6063 aluminum bolster handle keep the overall weight to 3.3 oz. (93,55 grams).

For tactical operators, CRKT is introducing the Earth, First Responder, Veff Serrations and Imperial White versions of the well-known Provoke design by Joe Caswell: a folding karambit knife, using the unique, lightning-fast Kinematic action that allows to keep it neatly tucked in transit and providing for fast deployment of the D2 blade steel with the flick of the user's thumb without having to change hold.
Depending on the model, new Provoke knife variants come with features such as a black titanium nitride or Cerakote coating for an enhanced corrosion resistance, a ceramic glass-breaker for emergency situations, or a serrated blade for rope, seatbelts, netting, or other fibrous materials. Gear-compatible sheaths will be issued with some of the new models.

For outdoor enthusiasts, the CRKT Minimalist Cleaver utility neck knife designed by Alan Folts, comes with a fixed bead-blast, plain-edge, flat-point 5Cr15MoV blade and a polished resin-infused fiber handle is sturdy enough to be of basically every conceivable use, standing at 12,85 cm (5") overall length and barely 48,19 grams (1.7 oz) in weight, with additional peace of mind in carry provided by the issued polypropylene sheath.
Last, but by no means least, Lucas Brunley's Tuna, with its two-tone G10 and stainless steel handle and stone-washed folding 8Cr14MoV steel plain-edge blade comes with a sturdy and safe frame lock and a thumb stud for easy one-handed opening, and is 19,32 cm / 7.688" long in the open position and 11,39 cm / 4.485" in the closed position, standing at barely 104,89 grams (3.7 oz) in weigth.
