Mossberg MC2c compact striker-fired pistol
SHOT Show 2020 – Mossberg expands its line of semi-automatic pistols with the MC2c model, available with or without a crossbolt manual safety and with 13 or 15 rounds magazines
Following the success of the MC1sc subcompact pistol, the first semi-auto pistol in the Company’s 100-year history, Mossberg announced an expansion of its handguns line at the 2020 edition of the SHOT Show with the launch of the new Mossberg MC2c semi-automatic pistol.
The Mossberg MC2c features a 3.9-inch (9,9 cm) barrel and has an overall length of 7.1 inches (18 cm); a surprisingly slim width of 1.10 inches (2,79 cm); and height of 4.90 inches (12,4 cm). Weighing in at 21 ounces (595 grams) unloaded, thie MC2c is designed to be very narrow for its capacity, and offers ergonomic features for shooting comfort such as an added palm swell an a 1911-like grip angle, with Mossberg’s signature aggressive texturing for a more confident, firm grip.
The stainless-steel slide features aggressive multi-angle serrations that provide positive slide manipulation and MC2c pistols also have a reversible magazine release, located behind the trigger guard. Reversible cross-bolt safety models are also available.
The MC2c pistol features a glass-reinforced polymer frame and a stainless steel slide with the option of Black DLC (Diamond-Like Coating) or Matte Stainless finish. Integrated into the slide is the Mossberg STS™ (Safe Takedown System), which does not require the user to pull the trigger to dissemble for routine cleaning or maintenance.
Other features include dovetail-mounted, low-profile white 3-dot sights (drift adjustable) or TRUGLO sights; stainless steel barrel with cut-broached rifling and 1-in-16 twist rate with black DLC finish; front accessory rail; oversized trigger guard; flat-profile trigger with integrated blade safety. Trigger features include short, tactile reset; reduced overtravel; and approximate 5.5-pound (2,49 kg) trigger pull weight.
The MC2c magazines are constructed of coated steel which offers low friction and superior wear-resistance. The magazines also feature easy-to-remove floorplates for ease of cleaning and high-visibility followers. Flush-fit magazines offer a 13-rounds capacity in 9mm Luger, with extended magazines boosting capacity to 15 rounds, plus one in chamber.
