SHOT Show 2019 – The new Leupold Mark 5HD 7-35x56 joins the line of riflescopes winner of the coveted Golden Bullseye Award as the Optic of the year, now available with several new reticles
First introduced in 2018, the Leupold Mark 5HD line of riflescopes is among the latest entries in Leupold’s already vast catalogues. Not among the most expensive products to carry the Leupold brand, the Mark 5HD are also among the lightest, being advertised as “almost 20 ounces” (566 grams) lighter than most direct competitor.
Reduced and optimized in weight, the Leupold Mark 5HD series riflescopes will better handle and withstand even the harshest recoil energy for an extended period of time. All Mark 5HD riflescopes are manufactured by Leupold in their Oregon plant, with the sole exception of optical lenses.
At the 2019 edition of the NSSF SHOT Show, held in Las Vegas, the Leupold Mark 5HD line of riflescopes – freshly appointed winner of the coveted Golden Bullseye Award as the 2019 Optics of the year by the NRA’s own Shooting Illustrated magazine – grew of several new options and features to better suit the needs and demands of hunters, long-range shooters, and professional operators.
As of today, and counting the recent additions to the line, the Leupold Mark 5HD line consists of five baseline models: the pre-existing 3.6.-18x44 and 5-25x56 scopes, previously only available with Milliradian-based reticles, are now also available with MOA reticles. Plus a brand new and higher-powered 7-35x56 model was added to the lineup.
All the Leupold Mark 5 HD riflescopes are based on Leupold’s own Twilight Max HD Light optical system, offering a perfect balance between color transmission and contrast for optimal image clarity in most conditions; the adjustment turrets feature another Leupold patent, the ZeroLock system, providing precise, repeatable tracking with a dead-on return to zero
Additionally, the new Leupold Mark 5HD 7-35x56 riflescope will be available with an Impact-60 MOA riflescope or in a choice of five different Milliradian-based reticles: the Horus H-59M; the first focal plane CCH; the TMR; and the Horus Tremor 3 and Tremor 3 Illuminated.
