Christensen Arms Modern Precision Rifle
SHOT Show 2019 – Christensen Arms' Modern Precision Rifle, an ultra-lightweight chassis rifle designed for long-range sport shooting and hunting, is now available in a .223 Remington version and a desert brown variant
The Christensen Arms Modern Precision Rifle is an ultra-lightweight bolt-action rifle built around a billet aluminum chassis and designed for long-range applications; the Modern Precision Rifle is packed desirable features such as a folding stock with carbon fiber comb; a target-contour Christensen Arms carbon fiber barrel with a stainless steel side-baffle muzzle brake; a free-floating carbon fiber handguard; and a 20-MOA top Picatinny rail. And all of this, at a price that won't break the bank.
New for 2019, Christensen Arms has expanded the Modern Precision Rifle color options to include a Desert Brown anodized chassis. The new color offers customers an alternative to the standard black hardcoat anodize, while retaining the durability of the anodized finish.
Additionally, the Modern Precision Rifle is now available chambered in .223 Remington with both 16-inch and 20-inch (40,6 and 50,8 cm) barrel lengths offered. The .223 Remington model uses a standard short-action receiver and includes an Accuracy International AICS-compatible 10-round polymer magazine.
With the addition of the new .223 caliber version, the Modern Precision Rifle is available in seven popular long-range hunting and target shooting calibers: .223 Remington, .308 Winchester, 6.5 Creedmoor, 6.5 PRC, .300 Winchester Magnum, .300 Norma Magnum and .338 Lapua Magnum. Barrel length varies from a minimum of 16 inch (40,6 cm) to a maximum of 27 inch (68,5 cm) depending from the caliber.
The twin-lug bolt of the Christensen Arms Modern Precision Rifle is spiral-fluted, nitride-treated, and features an M16-style extractor; dual ejectors are provided for magnum caliber variants.
The Christensen Arms Modern Precision Rifle is compatible with Remington 700 optics bases and sports a Match-grade "flat" trigger, an oversized fluted bolt knob and skeletonized bolt handle, and a tactical release paddle for the standard AICS-compatible detachable magazines.
