Wuben C2 rechargeable compact EDC tactical flashlight
An all-rounder flashlight for professional and civilian users, the Wuben C2 is made even more appealing by a USB outlet that allows it to dub as an emergency power bank
First introduced in early 2022 by Wuben Light, the C2 rechargeable tactical flashlight was upgraded a couple of times ever since, and to this day it still represents one of the Chinese company's most interesting products in terms of every-day carry flashlights, getting all your bases covered in terms of general utility, camping and outdoors, technical and working needs, navigation, and even duty use by law enforcement, private security, and first responders.
Like basically all other flashlights in Wuben's catalog, the C2 flaslhlight is built on a black hard-anodized, slip-proof knurled cylindrical aluminum alloy body that is IP68 certified to withstand impacts and drops from heights up to 1,5 meters (approximately 5 ft) and submersion in water up to a depth of 2 meters (6,5 ft) for one hour.
This makes the Wuben C2 rechargeable flashlight more than capable to withstand the levels of hard use in difficult conditions that are today considered at the very least the bare minimum for tactical and outdoor lights – and a sole prerogative of better known brands and higher price brackets up to just a decade or so ago.
Standing at just 12,8 cm / 5.06" in length and 2,89 cm / 1.14" in width, and weighing in at barely 109 grams (3.84 ounces) – less than a run-of-the-mill smartphone these days – the Wuben C2 flashlight is a truly diminutive paperweight that won't add too much mass to your utility or duty belt, your backpack, or your pockets.
The diminutive size, however, is by no means matched by the levels of performance: the Wuben C2 features an advanced SST40 6500K LED – the same used by many other flashlights in Wuben's catalog, including some of the most powerful – embedded in an aluminum reflector and protected by a tempered glass front lens and a black aluminum strike bezel that can dub as an impromptu blunt force close-quarters self-defense tool or as an emergency glassbreaker for first responders.
The SST40 LED offers up to 2,000 Lumens of output and a maximum beam throw of 358 meters (1,175 ft); a built-in intelligent circuit allows the Wuben C2 emits a constant current to improve the beam stability, thus fixing the issues with rapid degree in beam intensity found on the first generations of this light – showing how Wuben did really listen to customers, learn from past mistakes and fixed them in a short amount of time.
The Wuben C2 is powered by a factory-issued 4800mAh, 21700 removable and rechargeable battery. In case of need, however, the C2 is compatible with third-party 18650 batteries.
A USB Type C 5V/2Ah port is located on one side of the flashlight's body, protected by a flip-off port. The intelligent quick-recharge system allows a completely spent battery to be fully recharged in four hours or less. The Type C port is compatible with laptop or desktop computer USB outlets; with standard domestic outlet chargers; and with adapters for motor vehicles, thus allowing the Wuben C2 flashlight to be recharged and kept always ready for use everywhere, anytime.

Unlike most tactical flashlights, the Wuben C2 features a multi-purpose activation button located at the base of the bezel instead than on the tailcap – which is flat and magnetized to allow the light to be supported by any metallic surface and dub as an impromptu lamp for precision work, while at the same time featuring a small loop for lanyards or cords, making it ideal for camping or duty belt carry.
A sequence of pressures on the activation button, detailed on the instruction manual, allows the Wuben C2 to shift to various output modes, from a minimum 5LM "Eco" mode – ideal for map reading, offering a staggering 300 hours of continuous runtime – up to intermediate 130, 400 and 1,200 Lm levels, with the maximum "Turbo" 2,000Lm mode draining the battery in "just" three hours of continuous use. Also available are a 2,000Lm tactical strobe mode and a 150Lm SOS signal mode.
