Officially announced on April 23, the new Encore ProHunter Firestick muzzleloading in-line hunting rifle was designed and is manufactured by Thompson/Center Arms for those hunters who demand precision, simplicity, and reliability.
Based on the proven Encore break-open design, allowing for interchangeable barrels across multiple calibers and hunting seasons, the T/C Arms Encore ProHunter Firestick rifle represents the evolution of modern muzzleloading, combining heritage craftsmanship with cutting-edge ignition technology.
At the heart of the new Encore ProHunter Firestick is the Federal Premium Firestick ignition system, specifically developed for modern in-line hunting rifles: pre-measured charges of clean-burning Hodgdon Triple Eight powder, encapsulated in waterproof, airtight polymer cylinders impervious to moisture and the element and made to the same tight tolerances and quality controls as loaded ammunition.
The Firestick capsules insert from the breech – a Federal 209 primer, sold separately must be inserted at the bottom of the capsule beforehand – while the bullet is still inserted through the muzzle. The Federal Firestick system eliminates the need for loose powder and ensures repeatable shot performance, faster reloads, and easier cleaning.

The T/C Arms Encore ProHunter Firestick fires .50-caliber ammunition, giving its best with modern saboted slugs for maximum effect on game; the super-crisp single-action trigger is matched to a rotating ambidextrous hammer spur allows easy access when using optics.
A Picatinny rail is mounted on top of the receiver, allowing the Encore ProHunter Firestick rifle to mount any modern riflescope for longer-range hunting.
The 28" (71,12 cm) barrel of the Encore ProHunter Firestick in-line rifle is button-rifled out of stainless steel with a 1:24" twist rate to deliver high levels of accuracy, durability, and balance. A counterbored muzzle simplifies bullet seating while enhancing downrange accuracy.
Standing at 42.5" (107,95 cm) in overall length and weighing in at 8.¼ lbs (3,74 kg) when empty, the Thompson/Center Arms Encore ProHunter Firestick in-line rifle also features an integrated recoil management with compression arches and Energy Burners to reduce felt recoil for improved shooter comfort.
All is topped by a highly ergonomic, black polymer stock, grip, and forend, and a fantastic satin finish on all outer metal surfaces. MSRP for the US market is set at $1,150.00.
