IWA 2016 – The Italian firm Pedersoli has presented a reproduction of the Withworth rifle: a single shot, black powder muzzle loading rifle intended to shoot heavy .45 caliber bullets at distances, up to around 1,000 yards. A first generation long range shooting rifle, the Withworth rifle, that soon after 1860 was in fact used as a sniper rifle during the American Civil War, by the Confederate Army sharpshooters.
