Smith & Wesson Model 1854 lever-action rifles
SHOT Show 2024 – Smith & Wesson introduces its first-ever line of lever-action rifles: the Model 1854 Series pays homage to Smith & Wesson founders Horace Smith & Daniel Wesson and their 1854 patent of their first lever gun
The Smith & Wesson Model 1854 lever-action rifles, debuted this year at SHOT Show, are Smith & Wesson's first lever-action rifles, but the company has indeed deep historical ties with the lever-action design: the Model 1854 line is in fact meant to commemorate the year when Smith & Wesson founders Horace Smith and Daniel B. Wesson patented their own lever-action rifle while working at the Volcanic Repeating Arms Company.
Chambered in .44 Magnum, feeding through a 9-rounds tube magazine and featuring a 19.¼", the Smith & Wesson Model 1854 lever-action rifles are available in two variants: the basic model features a full silver finish on metal surfaces and a black synthetic stock and handguard with textured grip panels and a set of M-LOK slots in front of the handguard, for accessories; the Limited Edition model features a polished black PVD finish on the receiver and barrel and a high-grade walnut stock and forend with satin finish.
Common features of the two models include a large loop operating lever; a gold bead front sight and an XS Sights Ghost Ring-type rear sight; a 1:10" right-hand twist, 8-groove rifling; and a removable top Picatinny rail for optics on the receiver, which is drilled to accept mounts compatible with Marlin 1894 hole patterns.
MSRP on the US market is set at $1,279.00 for the baseline model and $3,499.00 for the limited edition model.
