Sabatti TLD long-range shooting rifle
SHOT Show 2018 – The Italian company Sabatti showcased its new bolt-action long-range competition rifle: the Sabatti TLD rifle, available in two versions and three calibers, with top-end Italian craftmanship and style
TLD stands for "Tiro a lunga distanza", which is Italian for "Long Range Shooting". And indeed, the TLD bolt-action rifle developed jointly with BCM Europearms and first showcased by the Sabatti company at the 2018 edition of the IWA OutdoorClassics in Nuremberg (Germany) is one of the finest long-range competition shooting rifles to have been introduced in the past years, available in a TLD-RED version with an aggressive red stock and a full jet black surface finish on metal parts, or in a TLD-GOLD variant with a bronze finish on metal surfaces and on the cheekpiece and a multi-layered laminate wood stock.
The Sabatti TLD bolt-action long-range shooting rifle features a 60-degrees opening, fully machined bolt with three locking lugs whose axis is kept perfectly in line with the bore axis so that the lugs will match flawlessly to their seats within the barrel extension.
A V-shaped block that dubs as a recoil lug keeps the action paired with the stock, eliminating any tension for the sake of accuracy – hence why Sabatti calls this system a "Suspended action".
All Sabatti TLD rifle variants sport the Company's own multi-radial rifling (MRR) with an 8-inch 11.5-inch twist. Both a three-lever Match trigger and a DSMT double-stage Match trigger are available.
Being specifically conceived for long-range sport shooting – particularly for F-Class competition shooting – the Sabatti TLD rifle is manufactured to be as sturdy and rigid as it can get.
The Sabatti TLD bolt-action competition rifle is available in .308 Winchester (7,62x51mm), .300 Winchester Short Magnum and 6,5x47 Lapua chamberings, holding five rounds in .308 and 6,5x47 and three rounds in .300 WSM. Weighing in at about six kilograms (13.8 lbs), the Sabatti TLD rifle also features an adjustable cheekpiece and comes issued with a set of spacers allowing the shooter to adjust the stock length.
