Freshly introduced on the US market, the CMMG Mk47 Dissent 7.62x39mm semi-automatic rifle promises to be a revolution in the field of modern sporting rifles and carbines, offreing a solid and versatile alternative to Kalashnikov-based designs with an ingenious blend of tried and true technical features and proprietary solutions that improve its user-friendliness and performance.
Just like the CMMG Dissent civilian-grade PDW, introduced on the US market in June 2022, the new CMMG Mk47 Dissent semi-automatic rifle features a modified AR-15 style direct gas impingment system, based on a proprietary bolt carrier group that doesn't need a separate recoil buffer and buffer tube.

Additionally, the Mk47 Dissent rifle features CMMG's own, patented, proprietary POWERBOLT technology, based on a larger (think AR-10 size) and more durable rotating bolt that will easily accommodate and handle wider cases and higher-pressure loads, in full safety and without a hiccup.

The CMMG Mk47 Dissent rifle feeds through detachable AKM 7.62x39mm magazines of any make and capacity, and features an enlarged paddle release as well as an AR-15 style manual bolt stop and hold-open release catch, which will work with hold-open capable AK magazines such as Yugo mags and will allow shooters to manually lock the bolt open for additional peace of mind at the range.
Being built around two break-down, pivoting lightweight aluminum alloy receivers much like an AR-15, the CMMG Mk47 Dissent is easy to field-strip for cleaning and basic maintenance. The charging handle, located above the barrel, is reminiscent to the roller-locked H&K charging handle design – minus the "slap" capabilities, of course – and is reversible for left-handed or right-handed operation.
The CMMG Mk47 Dissent is available in 36 cm / 14.3" or 41 cm / 16.1" barrel variants, all featuring a CMMG Zeroed muzzle device and CMMG Zeroed Drop-In trigger.
All samples are Cerakote-finished for superior durability and resistance to corrosion, scratches, and elements, in the customer's choice of colors: armor black, sniper grey, charcoal green, coyote tan, midnight bronze, titanium grey, and tungsten grey.
Other features of the Mk47 Dissent platform include CMMG's own, ergonomic black polymer pistol grip with storage space at the bottom; a flip-down black polymer dust cover on the ejection window; and a Cerakote-finished, free-float machined aluminum M-LOK handguard.
The CMMG Mk47 Dissent semi-automatic rifle comes without sights of sort, opting instead for a full-length top MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny rail to accommodate the user's choice of optical or eletronic sights, or back-up irons.
Also issued from factory is a side-folding, fully adjustable black polymer buttstock with a rubberized buttpad and three QD sling swivel attachment points, whose design allows the rifle to be fired with the stock folded. Alternatively, the CMMG Mk47 Dissent is also available with a rear Picatinny rail segment, leaving it to the shooters to select and install whatever aftermarket stock or armbrace suits them better.
Manufacturer's suggested retail price for the CMMG Mk47 Dissent 7.62x39mm rifle in the United States starts at $2,199.95 for the stockless, 14.3" barrel P&W model and at $2,199.95 for the 16.1" barrel, folding stock model.
