New Beretta APX pistol variants
SHOT Show 2018 – New variants for the striker fired pistol Beretta APX
After years of research and development, Beretta finally stepped – and heavily so – into the polymer-frame, striker-fired pistols market last year with the APX semi-automatic pistol, available in 9mm Luger and .40 Smith & Wesson versions.
Available on the International markets since last year, at the Las Vegas SHOT Show 2018 Beretta has introduced some new variants of its pistol.
The Beretta APX RDO – where RDO stands for "Red Dot Optics" – is a variant of the baseline APX with a modified slide that allows the attachment of a variety of popular red dot sights for competition. Very similar to the RDO is the APX Combat, which features both reflex sight compatibility and a threaded muzzle for silencers, sound suppressors, or other muzzle devices.
Finally, the Beretta APX FDE is a full flat dark earth, frame and slide, version of the baseline APX, with only bits like the trigger and magazine release remaining black. This is a most faithful version of the APX variant that was submitted to the MHS handgun trial; an ambidextrous frame-mounted manual safety is optionally available for all APX versions.
