Officially launched in the United States on April 14 after having been showcased at several trade shows between the end of 2025 and the first months of 2026, the Taurus RPC "Raging Pistol Carbine" is a 9mm Luger PDW design that the Brazilian company will offer for global commercial and professional sales alike.

Based on a HK MP5-style roller-delayed locking system, the Taurus RPC stands out among the crowd chiefly due to its extra-low weight – 2 to 2,2 kilograms (72.31 to 78.65 oz.) depending on the configuration, making it one of the lightest firearms in the world in this category – and is manufactured both in semi-automatic versions for civilians and select-fire versions for military, law enforcement, and government customers.

The Taurus RPC can be stripped down to five basic components: the upper receiver, manufactured out of machined, black Cerakote-finished aluminum alloy and hosting the bolt assembly; the black polymer lower receiver, hosting the entire trigger group with its single-stage flat-face trigger; the quick-release barrel; the M-LOK handguard; and the rear end cap, consisting in a vertical Picatinny rail.

The quick-release system allows the barrel to be removed and replaced, allowing the Taurus RPC to be adapted to a plethora of uses; as sold on the civilian market in the United States, the large-size pistol variant of the RPC comes from factory with a 114 mm / 4.5" barrel, but the RPC platform has been showcased at trade shows in several barrel lengths making the system fully configurable. Select-fire RPCs displayed in the past months have been seen with a 203 mm / 8" barrel and a longer handguard as well.

Regardless of their length, all Taurus RPC barrels come with a ½x28 TPI thread at the muzzle, allowing the installation of compensators, muzzle brakes, flash hiders and other muzzle devices – including sound suppressors, where legally available or for MIL/LE/Govt. uses.

The polymer frame comes with an AR-15 compatible soft rubber over molded grip and features a fully ambidextrous set of controls – manual safety or fire selector, magazine release button, open bolt release catch – inspired in both shape and position to those of the AR-15 platform rifles to facilitate familiarization.

Inside the polymer frame, the trigger group is housed within a self-contained steel chassis which is also the serialized component and thus legally represents the firearm, allowing the RPC to be fully configurable by replacing literally every component around it.

The Taurus RPC feeds through proprietary ribbed black polymer magazines holding up to 32 rounds; two magazines are issued with each sample for civilian sales, and cut-down 10-rounds magazines are available for sale in restrictive Countries and jurisdictions.

The Cerakoted machined aluminum upper receiver features a fairly large ejection port located on the right side and a full-length top Picatinny rail for optics or flip-up sights; the charging handle runs above the barrel and can be swapped for left-handed or right-handed operation.

The two receivers are held together by a rear takedown pin and a front pivot pin, making field-stripping similar to that of an AR-15, while a separate pin holds the M-LOK handguard in place.

The rear vertical Picatinny endcap dubs either as an attachment point for a single-point sling – but the RPC also comes with three integrated quick-detach sling attachment points for flexible carry – or as an installation point for a stock. In compliance with the 1932 National Firearms Act, the Taurus RPC is available on the US market either with a bare rear Picatinny rail or with a side-folding Strike Industries armbrace.

The Taurus RPC as sold in other Countries or to military, law enforcement and government customers come instead with a wide array of folding, fully collapsing, or telescoping stocks. Regardless of the factory configuration, all RPC variants can be reconfigured with any type of Picatinny-compatible stock.

Given its industry-leading minimum length of 30 centimeters (12.2 in) in its stockless or folded stock/armbrace configuration, the Taurus RPC makes for a very compact, concealable and easily maneuverable platform for law enforcement and private security personnel, close protection details, and for personal, home, and property defense.

In its longer barrel configurations, the Taurus RPC can represent an excellent cost-effectrive alternative to pistol-caliber carbines and short barrel rifles offered by higher-priced brands, particularly when it comes to practical shooting competition. MSRP on the US market ranges between $939.99 and $1,098.99 depending on the configuration.
