Taurus Deputy Dual Cylinder single-action revolver
Taurus introduces a double cylinder version of the Deputy single-action revolver, easily convertible from .357 Magnum and .38 Special to 9mm Luger for target shooting or plinking
First introduced in early 2024 in .357 Magnum and .45 Colt variants, and with 12 cm / 4.¾" or 14 / 5.½" barrels, the Taurus Deputy revolver became an almost instant success on the US market among shooting enthusiasts who appreciate modern single-action revolvers
Entirely manufactured out of stainless and alloy steel, with a fascinating polished black finish on all outer metal surfaces and a six-shots fluted cylinder with a classic right side loading gate and spring-loaded manual ejector rod, the Taurus Deputy is definitely a solid gun for the price.
It may not be a perfect, historically accurate replica like those sold by brands such as Uberti or Chiappa Firearms, but to this day the Taurus Deputy represents a sensible choice for those shooters who aren't interested in historical and technical accuracy and don't take part in CAS competitions but are still on the market for a practical single-action revolver inspired by a great classic for training, target shooting, or simple plinking.

Taurus is now making the Deputy platform even more practical and versatile with the launch of the Taurus Deputy Dual Cylinder model, featuring a 14 cm / 5.½" barrel with six right-handed grooves and a 1:16.¼", that comes from factory with two interchangeable, non-fluted, six-shots cylinders, allowing shooters to quickly shift between .357 Magnum, .38 Special (also compatible with +P loads), and 9mm Luger.
With no timing issues and no changes in the way the gun handles and fires, the Taurus Deputy Dual Cylinder now provides shooters with the possibility to tailor their shooting experience – whether choosing the power of .357 Magnum, the mild recoil and affordability of .38 Special, or the convenience and availability of 9mm Luger ammunition.
Like the previous iterations of the design, the new Taurus Deputy Dual Cylinder revolver is built on a polished black stainless steel frame and a polished black alloy steel barrel and cylinder; the checkered grip panels are manufactured out of black polymer and feature the Taurus logo on both sides.
The Taurus Deputy Dual Cylinder revolver also features a fixed blade front sight, a tunnel machined on top of the frame to dub as a rear sight, and a single-action trigger offering the familiar handling and 4-click hammer operation that enthusiasts expect, enhanced by a transfer bar safety system that will prevent the hammer from impacting on the firing pin if accidentally dropped, thus ensuring a safe six-round carry.
Standing at 28 cm / 11.04" in overall length and weighing in at 1,1 kg / 41.6 oz. when empty, the Taurus Deputy Dual Cylinder single-action revolver is sold on the US market at a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $674,99.
