Springfield Armory AOS, a new generation of optics ready 1911s
Announced on August 27, 2024 by Springfield Armory and developed in collaboration with Agency Arms, the Springfield Armory AOS (Agency Optic System) is a brand new interface system for micro red dot sights that's now available from factory on a broad range of Springfield Armory's own 1911-type pistols and, potentially, other models in the future.
Conceived for stability and for the fullest possible compatibility with a wide array of popular MRDS – basically all models that share the Trijicon RMR, Shield, Leupold DeltaPoint Pro, or Noblex/Docter footprint – the Springfield Armory AOS system is machined from billet steel for durability and precise fitment, offering constant proper optic height and intuitive sight picture for a visible co-witness in nearly all optic configurations.

Springfield Armory's Operator, Emissary, and Ronin pistols will be the first to feature the Agency Optic System
Each AOS plate features an integral, dovetailed rear sight with anti-glare serrations, and can be installed on the machined AOS slide via a set of issued Torx screws. The system currently includes six different plates, compatible with thirteen popular micro red dot sights from eight of the most popular brands in the field today.
As of today, the AOS Agency Optic System is available from factory on three of Springfield Armory's lines of 1911 type pistols: the: Operator, the Emissary, and the Ronin.
All the Springfield Armory AOS pistols are available in compact and full-size variants, and in both 9mm Luger and .45 ACP. The manufacturer's suggested retail price for Springfield Armory's Ronin AOS pistols is set at $967.00 in the US, while the Operator AOS pistols are sold at an MSRP of $1,184.00 and the Operator AOS pistols are priced at $1,378.00, regardless of the variant.
Model-specific AOS plates are available for direct purchase through Springfield Armory's e-store, going for $129 each.
