First introduced back in 2013 at the (now long defunct) EXA gun expo in northern Italy, the 963 MF double-action revolvers manufactured by Fabbrica d'Armi Olmi of Italy are now available on the US market via Taylor's & Company – a company best known for their historical firearms replica – and marketed as the "Taylor's & Co. 963 MF Defense" revolver.

Chambered in .357 Magnum, capable of using .38 Special ammunition right out of the box and with planned conversion systems for 9mm Luger ammunition, the Olmi 963 MF revolvers are manufactured in 3", 4" or 6" barrel options – with only the first two being available in the US so far – and with a Cerakote, PVD or DLC finish available in black, silver, white, gold, OD green or FDE.

The fixed, dovetailed three-dot sights are easily replaced with fiber-optic, tritium, or micrometric alternatives adjustable in both windage and elevation. Grips are available in ebony, walnut, and black, red, or cobalt blue anodized aluminum alloy.

Olmi's 963 MF revolvers are built around a forged and hardened Ni-Cr-Mo tri-alloy steel frame and feature a 7-rounds (not 6!) quenched and tempered alloy steel cylinder with a Dan Wesson-style dual frame lock (front and rear unlocking levers). Barrels are cold-hammer forged out of high quality steel and protected by a removable, interchangeable ventilated machined aluminum alloy shroud. Standard or Picatinny-railed "tactical" shrouds are available.

The street price for the Olmi 963 MF "Defender" revolvers as sold in the US by Taylor's & Co. ranges between $959 and $1,099.
