Kimber K6s CDP and K6s Stainless 3" double-action revolvers
Kimber of America expands its K6s line of .357 Magnum caliber, double-action only revolvers with the launch of the CDP custom defense package model and with a brand new 3-inch barrel all-stainless variant
The Kimber Mfg. company first launched the K6s line of revolvers back in 2016. An absolute premiere for the company, the K6s is currently the world's smallest .357 Magnum revolver, also well apt to be used with .38 Special ammunition and conceived for deep-concealed carry and personal, home, and property defense. At the 2018 editions of the NSSF SHOT Show in Las Vegas and IWA OutdoorClassics in Nuremberg (Germany), Kimber expanded the K6s line of revolvers with the launch of two new variants – more specifically the K6s CDP and the K6s Stainless 3".
Kimber K6s CDP
The Kimber K6s CDP (with CDP standing for "Custom Defense Package") is a variant of the baseline K6s model improved in terms of trigger and ergonomics for defensive shooting. Featuring a laminated wood grip with a checkered backstrap and front finger grooves, the Kimber K6s CDP revolver is fully constructed out of stainless steel and features a black diamond-like carbon (DLC) finish on the frame and a brushed stainless finish on the cylinder, barrel, trigger, and cylinder opening button. Capacity is six rounds, standard.
The Kimber K6s CDP double-action only revolver is 16,8 cm (6.62") long overall and features a 5 cm (2") barrel; the overall weight with an empty cylinder tops 652 grams (23 ounces). The non-staggering, Match-grade trigger is factory set on a weight ranging approximately between 4,3 and 4,7 kilograms (9.5-10.5 lbs).
Kimber K6s Stainless 3"
The Kimber K6s Stainless 3" was instead conceived to offer better shooting accuracy and for open defensive or service carry, with its three-inch barrel.
Technically speaking, most features remain the same as a standard K6s: the cylinder holds six rounds of .357 Magnum or .38 Special ammunition, the fixed sights feature three white inlay dots, the trigger is a non-staggering, double-action only set to a 9.5-10.5 lbs weight (4,3-4,7 kg) from factory.
This specific model features smooth walnut grips and a full brushed stainless finish on all outer metal surfaces. The 3" barrel brings the overall lenght up to 19,35 centimeters (7.62"). The weight of the K6s Stainless 3" model tops 711 grams - 25.1 oz unloaded.
