The Dan Wesson 1911 Specialist Black Optics-Ready .45 ACP semi-automatic pistol is a high-performance 1911-style handgun designed for law enforcement and personal defense – yet another one from Dan Wesson, a Colt-CZ Group company. The high-performance 1911 Specialist Optics-Ready combines the custom-level fitting and premium parts that set Dan Wesson Firearms apart on the global market and make them so popular among civilian and professional users alike.
As the popularity of pistol-mounted optics rises for their fast, intuitive target acquisition and improved accuracy, Dan Wesson provided the new Specialist with a factory-cut slide, saving time and money on custom gunsmithing. Optional optics plates for the Trijicon RMR, Leupold DeltaPoint Pro and Vortex Viper systems let users mount their favorite micro red dot sight quickly and easily.
The Dan Wesson Specialist Optics-Ready pistol is built around a forged, hand-fit frame and slide and a Match-Grade 5" barrel for flawless function and superb accuracy. The matte black Duty finish doesn’t draw attention and is highly durable. An inverted top rib cuts down on glare, and a set of Novak-style sights – a fiber-optic front sight and serrated tactical rear sight – co-witnesses with the red dot as a backup.
The frame sports an integrally machined 1913 Picatinny rail for mounting lights or lasers, the 25 LPI checkering on the front strap improves grip, and an undercut trigger guard enhances recoil control, while the recessed slide stop allows laser grip installation. The Specialist Optics-Ready pistol also features an ambidextrous thumb safety and extended grip safety and beavertail.
The Dan Wesson 1911 Specialist Optics-Ready pistol feeds through single-stack magazines, offering an overall capacity of 8 rounds of .45 ACP ammunition; reload procedures are made easier and quicker by the extended magazine release and magwell.
Other features of the Dan Wesson 1911 Specialist Optics-Ready pistol include a serrated-face, long solid factory trigger with a 3.5-5 lbs (1,5 - 2,2 kg) weight for a consistent, crisp squeeze and accurate shooting; and a set of VZ Operator II G10 grips that guide the hand well into the beavertail and hold it there for a constantly proper, stable shooting stance.
Standing in at 22 cm / 8.75" in overall length and weighing in at 1,19 kg / 42.3 oz. when empty, the Dan Wesson Specialist Optics-Ready pistol is a brand new-for-2023 model, priced at $2,299.00 on the US market.
