Vortex Optics announces Razor HD Gen III 4-24x44 FFP riflescope
Vortex Optics expands the Razor HD Gen III line of riflescopes with a 4-24x44 model featuring a first focal plane reticle and a shorter size for use on DMRs
First announced on the US market in early November 2025, the new Vortex Optics Razor HD Gen III 4-24x44 FFP tactical riflescope was designed to meet the needs and demands of sport shooters who compete in mid-to-long-range practical shooting or long-range shooting disciplines, and the ever-changing operational requirements of law enforcement operators.
Specifically dimensioned to be lighter and shorter for modern bolt-action long-range precision rifles and on semi-automatic modern designated marksman rifles (DMR) – particularly those based on the AR-10 platform – the new Vortex Optics Razor HD Gen III 4-24x44 FFP riflescope offers a wide magnification range, allowing users to reach out to almost any target at the longest distance, and a class-leading field of view for full situational awareness, all topped by a super high-definition optical system that is by far the most advanced offered by Vortex Optics as of today.
Built on a solid, super rigid single-piece 34mm tube machined out of a single block of aircraft-grade aluminum alloy, the Vortex Optics Razor HD Gen II 4-24x44 FFP riflescope features a full, highly durable Stealth Shadow matte bronze anodizationthat provides a low-glare matte surface and helps camouflage the shooter's position.
A set of optically-indexed, apochromatic high-end lenses correct color across the entire visual spectrum and optimize image sharpness and brightness from edge to edge. Protected by a long list of ultra-hard multi-layer coatings (XR Plus, Armortek, Plasma Tech), the lenses provide maximum light transmission for peak clarity and pinnacle low-light performance, while remaining protected from dirt, scratches, impacts, and other aggressive elements.
The Vortex Optics Razor HD Gen III 4-24x44 FFP riflescopes come with a glass-etched EBR-7D first focal plane reticle, available in MIL or MOA variants, whose dimensions on target remain constant all through the magnification range. Magnification itself is controlled by a finely tuned dial located on the eyepiece; the scope is issued from factory with a clip-on throw lever for lightning-fast adjustment.
A set of L-Tec+ Zero System capped turrets allow the reticle to be adjusted for elevation and windage on a range of 158 MOA and 86 MOA respectively, via ¼ MOA clicks. A separate turret located on the left side of the scope body controls the illumination of the reticle, hosting the single CR2032 battery that powers the system and allowing to navigate between eleven intensity levels with off positions between each setting.
Standing at 31,75 cm / 12.5" in overall length and weighing in at 915 grams (32.3 oz), the Vortex Optics Razor HD Gen III 4-24x44 FFP riflescopes are Argon-purged and O-ring sealed for superior fogproof and waterproof performance in the most extreme conditions, and are designed to withstand harsh weather conditions, a wide range of temperatures, and the highest levels of recoil and impact.
MSRP for the Vortex Optics Razor HD Gen III 4-24x44 FFP riflescopes on the US market is set at $ 4,199.99 for all variants.
