Leupold Deltapoint Micro red dot sight for pistols
The Leupold Deltapoint Micro is a new and innovative small-size red dot sight for Glock and Smith & Wesson M&P pistols, installed in lieu of the rear sight for low encumbrance in everyday concealed or open carry
The Leupold Deltapoint Micro red dot sight – a brand new market introduction for 2021 from Leupold & Stevens, America's biggest name in sports and tactical optics – addresses the increasing market demand for low-profile, small-size and lightweight handgun optics that would provide all the advantages of an accurate, intuitive, fast-aligning aiming device without the additional bulk and weight that still makes red dot sights somewhat disadvantageous, albeit increasingly popular, to be used for all-day-long concealed or open carry.
As of now, the Leupold Deltapoint Micro red dot sight is offered in two specific profiles, fitting Glock or Smith & Wesson M&P pistols; mounted directly to the rear sight dovetail, the Leupold Deltapoint Micro requires no optics-ready slides and sits at the same height as factory iron sights, aligning the red dot with the front sight for faster target acquisition and improved accuracy.
Until now, there hasn’t been a compact red dot sight suited for pistols with smaller frames and lower sight profiles, but the DeltaPoint Micro changes the game.
Standing merely at 2.25" (5,7 cm) of overall length and 1.25" (3,17 cm) of height, the Leupold Deltapoint Micro weighs barely 1.1 oz (31,18 grams) and is manufactured entirely out of lightweight aluminum, with a fully enclosed design to keep a low profile remain snag-proof.
The structure of the Leupold Deltapoint Micro boasts a full protective anodization on outer metal surfaces, and Leupold's own Double DiamondCoat scratch resistant treatment protects the lenses and the professional-grade red dot optical system. The superior ruggedness of the Deltapoint Micro design is verified through Leupold’s Punisher testing process; the Deltapoint Micro is IPX-7 certified to be waterproof and fogproof, and is guaranteed to perform for life.
A single CR1632 commercial battery, hosted in a tool-less quick-change compartment, powers a 3 MOA red dot that's adjustable to eight different illumination brightness levels through a push-button switch and supports night vision devices.
The dot can be adjusted in elevation on a 100 MOA range and in windage on a 180 MOA range through friction adjustment dials.
The MST (Motion Sensor Technology) system extends battery life, while a built-in sleep mode prevents battery drain, providing up to 3,5 years of constant runtime on illumination level 4; the Leupold Deltapoint Micro offers an unlimited eye relief, and can be used as a "Ghost Ring" sight if the battery dies.
Both versions of the Leupold Deltapoint Micro red dot sight are already available on the US market at a MSRP of $399.99; variants of the design may be made available for other handgun platforms in the future.
As of today there is no clear indication concerning availability and pricing on the international markets. Prospective international buyers may want to contact the authorized Leupold distributor in their Country for further information.
