Sabatti Hemingway commemorative bolt-action hunting rifle
The Hemingway bolt-action hunting rifle is a wonderful piece manufactured by Sabatti to celebrate the great writer's sporting spirit and his love for hunting and for the great outdoors
Ernest Hemingway
Sabatti introduces the Hemingway bolt-action rifle, bringing Sabatti's long centuries of gunmaking heritage straight into the world of prized collectables. A special creation distributed by Sabatti's own branch MRR Rifles, the MRR rifle has been manufactured in a very limited edition of less than thirty samples.
The Hemingway rifle is built around Sabatti's own, acclaiomed Blizzard action, manufactured on cutting-edge CNC machines out of a single billet of high tensile strength tri-alloy steel. The manufacturing process has been designed from the ground up to minimize the creation of inherent tolerances. The receiver is drilled and tapped for scope rings.
The finish definitely represents the key cosmetic feature of the Sabatti Hemingway rifle: the steel receiver is polished and case-hardened to intense, warm colors. The blend of the case-hardened action with the warm wooden stock makes the Hemingway a distinctly elegant rifle.
The bolt is CNC-machined out of a single bar of steel, and is fluted for a smoother operation. The bolt is also polished and sports a Nitrulex surface finish that increases its resistance to wear and tear, contributes to its smooth running, and provides an overall high quality and aesthetically pleasing finish.
The three locking lug bolt, with its 60-degrees throw, features a rock-solid extractor for maximum reliability; the charging handle knob is user-replaceable.
The Hemingway rifle also comes from factory with a crisp, clean 1,2 kg / 2.6 lbs trigger. Alternatively, like all of Sabatti's hunting rifles, the Hemingway is available upon request in a single set trigger configuration.
The barrel is 560 mm / 22" long overall, with a 16 mm / 0.63" diameter at the muzzle, features a M14x1 muzzle thread under a screw-on thread protector; and features a set of adjustable front and rear sights. The M14x1 thread allows for easy installation of muzzle brakes, either manufactured by Sabatti or by third party suppliers.
The barrel is cold-hammer forged, blued and polished, and features the MRR multi-radial rifling that has been putting Sabatti rifles one cut above the competition in terms of reliability, service life, and accuracy for years now.
The classic Mauser-style stock, with its wide cheek riser located on the left side of the buttstock, is manufactured out of selected European walnut with rosewood inserts; all Sabatti Hemingway rifle stocks are oil-finished by hand, and the checkering on all contact surfaces is also hand-made.
The pistol grip features a gold-engraved, case-hardened steel bottom plate, fixed in place with two case-hardened wooden plate. The magazine well is also case-hardened and features a weaved golden decoration.
The Hemingway rifle is available only in .308 Winchester, feeds through 3-rounds detachable magazines, and every single rifle sports a custom bedding. All samples are test-fired at the factory, and the test group target is delivered to the buyer with the rifle.
