Umarex HDC 68 and TC 68 non-lethal home defense carbines
The 2025 edition of IWA OutdoorClassics saw Umarex expand their P2P - Prepare 2 Protect line of products with the launch of the new Umarex HDC 68 non-lethal home defense carbine.
Largely manufactured out of bright orange polymer, inspired by the AR-15 rifle design for easier familiarization, and featuring a 30 cm / 11.8" barrel, the new Umarex Home Defense Carbine propels spheric .68 caliber Paintball-type ammunition and is powered by a single 88 grams CO² canister or two commercial 12g coupled capsules with a quick-pierce adapter; a T4E HPA adapter, sold separately, allows the use of refillable air tanks.
The HDC 68 carbine is available in a semi-automatic version, with a <7.5J muzzle energy coefficient, and in two select-fire variants with a <16J or <40J muzzle energy coefficient.

The twenty rounds detachable magazines can be coupled for quick reloading; alternatively, each HDC 68 carbine comes factory-issued with a mockup magazine and a top-mounted adapter for a hopper. A single CO² canister will offer enough propulsion power for up to 200 rounds.
Two new lines of .68 caliber ammunition have been introduced along with the HDC 68 carbine: the 4.15g P2P CORE Pepperballs defense rounds, with a PAVA or OC payload, and the P2P CORE Chalkballs, with a steel core and a chalk marking payload for training.
The HDC 68 carbine is also available in a full-black training and skirmishing version dubbed the TC 68, which is otherwise identical.
