The new Sauer 101 Fieldshoot bolt-action rifle is the latest entry in the well-known Sauer 101 series, and like all other models in the line, it was designed from the ground up to provide a perfect balance between innovative features of manufacturing and modularity, and the fine tradition of accuracy and aesthetics that the German brand is known and appreciated for on the global markets.

In this case, the Sauer 101 Fieldshoot is somewhat of a "double use" rifle, offering features dedicated to perform excellently both in precision target shooting disciplines (particularly field shooting, hence the name) and on the hunting fields, especially in the hands of outdoorsmen practicing cull hunting, varmint and predator control.

The four calibers the Sauer 101 Fieldshoot will be available in at launch – 6XC Norma, 6.5 Creedmoor, 6.5x55 SE, .308 Winchester, and 8.5x55 Blaser – make sure Sauer's new bolt-action will handle anything you can throw at it... and then some.

At the heart of the Sauer 101 Fieldshoot rifle is the classic CNC-machined steel S101 action, with a robust unfluted, six-lugs bolt, mated to a German-made, cold hammer-forged 56 cm (22") Varmint Match precision barrel with a 19mm (0.74") taper and M17x1 thread at the muzzle.

The receiver and barrel are protected by a matte black DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) finish, and paired to a highly ergonomic dark grey laminate wood stock offering a large top thumb shelf and adjustable cheek riser; a set of 1" spacers allowing the length of pull and comb of the stock to be adjusted; and a ventilated handguard with bipod and sling swivel attachment studs.

Other features of the Sauer S 101 Fieldshoot bolt-action rifle include a single-stage trigger with an extra-wide, Match-shaped blade and premium class shooting comfort; a crisp, 950 grams (2 lbs.) pull; and a DuraSafe direct firing pin safety in form of a top-tang slider that is instinctive and super-silent to operate.

The polished stainless rotating bolt features an integral conic shaped bolt handle for a faster, smoother operation, and the receiver is drilled and tapped to accept most optics attachment systems, Picatinny rails included.

Standing at 1.065 mm (approx. 42") in overall length, and weighing in at 3,7 kilograms (8.15 lbs) when empty, Sauer's new 101 Fieldshoot bolt-action rifles feed through proprietary single-stack detachable magazines holding five rounds in standard calibers and four rounds in Magnum calibers, plus one in chamber.

All the Sauer 101 Fieldshoot rifles feature the patented HeatLock connection system between the barrel and receiver, which eliminates mechanical tensions and guarantees sub-MOA accuracy right out of the box.
