Mossberg 590R 12-gauge pump-action shotgun
New for 2025, the Mossberg 590R and 590RM 12-gauge pump-action shotguns represent a remarkable upgrade of the already very popular, tried-and-true model 590, meeting the modern needs and trends in terms of hunting, home and property defense, law enforcement, military and tactical applications.
The Mossberg 590R shotgun feeds through a 6-shells magazine tube, and can host an additional shell in chamber; the Mossberg 590RM does without the tube, opting instead for a ten-rounds detachable magazine, with a lever-style release and stabilizing ribs that engage the receiver for secure lockup.
Both models feature a 18.5" barrel with integrated heat shield and a compact, ergonomically-shaped forend. Most important, both feature a MagPul MOE AR-15 compatible pistol grip and a rotary AR-15 style ambidestrous safety in lieu of the usual top tang safety, improving handling ergonomics, as well as a flat profile trigger with a smooth, crisp break. A "Stand-off" muzzle breacher is optionally available.
A collapsible M4-style stock is installed on an adapter with five positions of LOP adjustment. The base features two QD mounting ports for sling swivels, and keeps the stock well in line with the bore axis, making recoil and muzzle climb more manageable.
The Mossberg 590R and 590RM shotguns come with a top MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny rail for optics, also hosting a MagPul MBUS3 two-piece pop-up rear sight; a MBUS3 front sight is installed on a separate Picatinny rail segment close to the muzzle, while a front M-LOK adapter provides dual-sided accessory mounting slots for easy sling or tactical light customization.
MSRP on the US market is set at $1,085.00 for the Mossberg 590R and at $1,190.00 for the Mossberg 590RM.
