Ruger RXM pistol: a new Glock-alike developed with MagPul
From the collaboration between Ruger Firearms and MagPul comes the new Ruger RXM 9mm Luger semi-automatic pistol, a Glock 19 inspired design offered at a very affordable price for personal, home, and property defense
Officially launched on the US market on December 11, the Ruger RXM 9mm Luger semi-automatic pistol is the newest, and indeed very interesting, entry in the already vast market of "Glock-compatible" pistols, designed for concealed or open carry, personal defense, home and property protection, and as a service pistol chiefly for private security personnel.
The Ruger RXM was developed in collaboration with MagPul and is built to be simple, reliable, ergonomic and modular, compatible with most original 3rd gen. Glock 19 pistol components to facilitate maintenance, and of course very affordable.
The Ruger RXM is a striker-fired, light double action pistol that feeds through low-profile double-stack magazines; the standard capacity is fifteen rounds, but 10-rounds magazines are also available for sale in those Countries and local jurisdictions with magazine capacity restrictions in place.
The trigger, striker group, and magazines of the Ruger RXM are 100% compatible with the original Glock 19 counterparts. Each Ruger RXM comes issued from factory with two MagPul PMAG 15 GL9 magazines.
Like with many other modern pistols, the serialized component of the Ruger RXM – the one that legally constitutes the pistol itself – is the self-contained trigger module, a steel chassis hosted within an easily replaceable MagPul EHG RG9 enhanced grip module, manufactured out of polymer and available in black or Stealth Grey.
The MagPul EHG RG9 polymer frame/enhanced grip module offers consumers premium features such as MagPul's own, 3/4-scale TSP texture for a secure grip without discomfort or damage to clothing during concealed carry and textured indexing pads for consistent finger / thumb placement. A railed dust cover for tactical accessories also comes standard.
The through-hardened, black FNC nitride finished alloy steel slide of the Ruger RXM pistol features wide front and rear slide serrations, as well as a co-witness height tritium front sight, a drift-adjustable rear sight, and a machined micro red dot sights interface allowing the direct installation of Leupold DeltaPoint Pro, Trijicon RMR or Shield RMSc sights.
Other elements such as the 4" barrel, the captive return spring and guide rod, the rear end slide cap, and many other smaller components are compatible with stock or aftermarket Glock 19 parts. The Ruger RXM is also fully compatible with a vast majority of factory or aftermarket Glock 19 accessories, holsters included.
The Ruger RXM pistol is sold on the US market at a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $499; for all information concerning availability and pricing outside of the US, consult the authorized Ruger Firearms distributor for your Country.
