New Taurus 856 Executive Grade revolver
Taurus announces the launch of a new double-action revolver for concealed carry and service and home/property defense: the new 856 Executive Grade will be the first in a new line of revolvers, and offers features such as a spurless hammer, chamfered cylinder chambers, hand-polished satin finish, and Altamont walnut grips
Taurus International Manufacturing – the north American branch of the Brazilian Forjas Taurus S/A, headquartered in Bainbridge, in the US State of Georgia – announced the introduction of a new series of defensive and concealed carry revolvers, dubbed the "Executive Grade" line, at the 2022 edition of the NRAAM convention at the end of May, in Houston, Texas.
The first model of the series, already available in the United States, is the Taurus 856 Executive Grade .38 Special double-action revolver: a higher-grade creation, meant to relaunch the image of the world's biggest manufacturer of revolvers in terms of manufacturing quality and performance.

Among the features that make the new Taurus 856 Executive Grade double-action revolver so unique is are the Altamont wooden grips and the hand-polished satin finish on the cylinder, barrel, and small-size frame.
Additionally the Taurus 856 Executive Grade offers a set of bespoke features for concealed carry and defensive purposes, such as a hand-tuned double-action only trigger and a spurless hammer for quick and easy snag-free drawing or holstering when it matters the most.
An improved trigger guard and backstrap also enhance comfort and shooting performance, making the new Taurus 856 Executive Grade .38 Special double-action revolver easier to operate by shooters of any build and hand size.
The new Taurus 856 Executive Grade features a 76 mm / 3" barrel, with a black removable ramp front sight and a U-notch machined tunnel on top of the frame dubbing as the rear sight, as usual with small-frame concealed carry revolvers.
The Taurus 856 Executive Grade double-action revolver is 19 cm / 7.5" long overall, 3,58 cm / 1.41" wide and 12,19 cm / 4.8" high, and weighs in at 708 grams (25 oz.) when empty.
The six chambers in the cylinder are chamfered for easier and faster reloads, either manual or through speedloaders. Chamfered chambers also make it easier for the shooters to remove empty casings, reducing the risk that higher-pressure shells may get stuck.
The new Taurus 856 Executive Grade double-action revolver is sold in a Pelican Vault V100 case, at a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $689.00 in the United States – which, for the US market, is approximately $200 less than what one would pay for similar models manufactured by competitors such as Ruger or Smith & Wesson.
