Recently announced by Browning International, the Browning Maxus 2 Ultimate Composite 12-gauge semi-automatic hunting shotgun is the latest limited availability edition of the Maxus 2 line of hunting shotguns, one of Browning's most successful ever.
Conceived for the hardest hunting situations – particularly for waterfowling – and chambered to accept 76mm/3" shotshells, the Browning Maxus 2 Ultimate Composite shotgun stands among all others for its shining bright, machined 7075-T6 lightweight aluminum alloy frame, finely engraved in an acanthus ornament pattern with very strong vibes of Corinthian and Roman classic architecture.

For the rest, the Browning Maxus 2 Ultimate Composite shotgun retains the oversized trigger guard, charging handle, hold-open release button, and all other features that made the Maxus 2 line so successful: the magazine tube can be configured to accept two or four shotshells (plus one in chamber) depending from local laws and regulations; the 71 or 76 cm / 28" or 30" Back Bored Vector Pro blued steel barrel features an Invector Plus choke system and a 6mm sighting rib with a fiber optic front sight; and the receiver features dovetailed cuts for scope mounts.
Each Browning Maxus 2 Ultimate Composite comes issued with four Invector Plus chokes: Full, IM, MOD, IC, and Cyl.
Other features of the Browning Maxus 2 Ultimate Composite shotgun include overmoulded grips for easier and more comfortable handling; a Reactar gel cheek riser; a set of shims and buttstock spacers, allowing shooters to adjust the length of pull; and two sling ring eyelets, located underneath the buttstock and on the magazine tube front cap.
Browning's Maxus 2 Ultimate Composite shotgun weighs in at approximately 3,2 kilograms (7 lbs.) when empty, and is sold in an ABS case along with a gunlock, a choke key, and the mentioned set of shims and buttstock spacers.
