Heckler & Koch announces the VP9-B pistol
The VP9 line of striker-fired pistols from Heckler & Koch grows of yet another member with the official introduction of the VP9-B model, which ditches the lever-style magazine release in favour of a reversible push-button
The VP9-B is the latest entry in Heckler & Koch's top-selling line of striker-fired pistols
Heckler & Koch USA – the north American branch of Heckler & Koch GmbH, Germany's biggest and best known gunmaker – announced on Friday, October 19th, the newest option on the most ergonomic striker fired handgun available: the VP9-B.
Chambered in 9mm Luger, the VP9-B ditches the ambidextrous "European-style" paddle magazine release in favour of an "American-style" reversible push-button magazine release, while remaining compatible with the P30 and VP9 -series magazines just like the previous models.
The new push-button style magazione release will make the VP9 more appealing for those shooters who do not like the paddle release magazine – particularly in north America.
Aside from the new magazine release system, the VP9-B is mechanically identical to the other variants of the Heckler & Koch VP9 series. The VP9 is only available in north America: its European counterpart is known as the SFP-9.

Otherwise technically identical to the baseline VP9 pistol, the VP9-B is made in Germany at Heckler & Koch's headquarters in Oberndorf, using all of the company’s advanced barrel manufacturing technologies and high level production of their machined steel slides, polymer frames, and all internal components.
The Heckler & Koch VP9-B pistol is retail-priced at $719.00 in the United States. The VP line is available only in north America; its European and export counterpart is known as the Heckler & Koch SFP-9, and whether or not the new magazine release button system will be implemented in the SFP line as well is unknown so far.
