It's not often that a firearms-related publication resorts to direct democracy to decide which gun is better: The Firearm Blog does just that, launching a new tradition in the monthly Reader's Choice Awards, and October is all about semi-automatic shotguns!

The Firearm Blog is one of the world's best respected websites dedicated to firearms, ammunition, accessories, and everything shooting, hunting, self-defense, and tactical.

Headquartered in the United States and owned by AllOutdoor since October 2012, TFB has been online for about a decade now and is a true institution about shooters and gun enthusiasts worldwide, and a groundbreaking one, as well as one of the very few to have outright refused to include politics in its scope, focusing entirely on guns, ammunition, accessories, their history, technique and use.

Starting this October, TFB announced a new feature: the monthly Reader's Choice Awards.

Each month, TFB readers and followers will be asked to pick a choice in a specific category – shotguns, rifles, handguns, concealed carry pistols, revolvers, etc. – from a list of entries curated from the top sales in the preceding six months in the United States, in order to narrow the choice among the most popular firearms.

At the end of each month, the winning choice will be posted along with a ranking of the remaining entries. A random winner of a swag pack will also be picked among the voters in the United States.
Readers can vote for their choice every day as long as each poll is running; voters who will detail the reason of their choice will earn an extra entry, and the most creative explainations will be picked and highlighted during the results poll.
