CCI Clean 22 rimfire ammunition
SHOT Show 2019 – The CCI Clean-22 are polymer-coated low-velocity and high-velocity .22 Long Rifle ammunition: the future of rimfire shooting?
The CCI Clean-22 line of ammunition feature both high-velocity and a subsonic variant, advertised by the manufacturer CCI Ammunition as “the future of rimfire”.
Available only in .22 Long Rifle caliber, the CCI Clean-22 ammunition features a proprietary polymer bullet coating that greatly reduces lead fouling in the barrel without leaving polymer residue, and cuts lead buildup in suppressors 60 to 80 percent – if you’re lucky enough to live in a jurisdiction where silencers are allowed, that is.
The 40-grain lead round nose bullets of the CCI Clean-22 ammunition offer an optimized geometry for improved accuracy, and are color-coded: red for high velocity, blue for subsonic. Both loads offer reliable function in semi-automatic firearms, offering a great new option to both recreational and competitive shooters.
The high velocity CCI Clean-22 .22 Long Rifle loads develop muzzle velocities of approximately 1236 feet per second (376 meters per second), resulting in a muzzle energy of about 135 ft-lbs (183 Joules); the muzzle velocity for the subsonic load has been measured to 1070 feet per second (326 meters per second), with a muzzle energy of 102 ft-lbs (138,2 Joules).
All the loads in the CCI Clean-22 .22 Long Rifle line of ammunition are sold in clear plastic 100-rounds boxes.
