MDT JAE-G5 chassis, new and updated for Remington 700 action rifles
Canadian-based MDT Sporting Goods releases the fifth generation of the JAE chassis system for Remington 700 short action rifles, compatible with numerous Remington, Bergara and Weatherby models
Officially released in the first week of October, the new MDT JAE-G5 chassis system represents the fifth generation of the design launched by the California-based J.Allen Enterprises company back in November 2005, and evolved since then in a long list of commercially successful variants, well known and appreciated on the global market for their superb mélange of rock-solid construction, stability, accuracy, comfort, and distinctive and pleasurable aesthetics.
Manufactured by MDT Sporting Goods in Canada, the new JAE-G5 chassis is built to enhance the performance and handling features of competion bolt-action precision rifles, with an eye on precision long-range hunting specialties and police or tactical applications, and is manufactured out of hard-anodized 6061-T6 aluminum alloy, with a full Cerakote finish and some polymer panels.
The MDT JAE-G5 chassis system is compatible with Remington 700 Short Action rifles, and can thus be installed on a broad array of Remington models and clones thereof, including Bergara's B14 and B14R, Premier, M40-ISH, Sidekick and MGMicro Lite rifles, as well as with the entire Weatherby Model 307 series.
Compared to the previous entries in the JAE chassis series, the new JAE-G5 chassis system features a long list of improvements including factory-issued interchangeable straight and angled grips; a lockable, adjustable, and easily removable cheek riser; a set of inserts for length-of-pull adjustments; a fully M-LOK compatible handguard with an additional built-in ARCA-Swiss rail for additional compatibility with all sorts of accessories, bipods included; a bolt-on adjustable barricade stop; a magazine well for AICS Short Action detachable magazines with a height-adjustable mag release catch and dowel inserts for rimfire magazines; and a precision-machined, beveled V-Block bedding securing the action within the chassis for consistent contact, improving accuracy by minimizing movement during firing.
Standing at 84,8 cm (33.4") in overall length and weighing in at approximately three kilograms (6.65 lbs), the MDT JAE-G5 chassis system is compatible with barrels up to 3,1 cm (1.250") in diameter, and features three QD sling swivel cups and a palm and thumb shelf for more comfortable operation.
MDT's JAE-G5 chassis system also comes with an internal dampening system to eliminate vibrations, providing stability and a "dead" feeling during shooting; and is compatible with internal weights to be installed within the handguard. MDT is now offering a 2-pack of internal weights, designed to provide a perfect balance for competition shooting.
The MDT JAE-G5 chassis system is available on the US market at a suggested retail price of $1,399.95. For information concerning local availability and pricing elsewhere, consult the authorized MDT distributor for your Country.
