Caldwell ClayCopter Surface-to-Air: the future of clay shooting
SHOT Show 2026 – Caldwell introduces the ClayCopter Surface-to-Air, a revolutionary clay thrower design for skeet and trap shooting ranges
A full year after the launch of the first ClayCopter, Caldwell Shooting Supplies introduces a new member of the revolutionary training system for clay shooting sports in the form of the ClayCopter Surface-to-Air.
Whereas the first ClayCopter was a hand-held device conceived to be owned and operated by shooters anywhere, the new Surface-to-Air is a revolutionary take on classic clay throwers designed to equip shooting ranges.
A column-style, ultra-lightweight launcher (under 10 lbs or 4,5 kg), the Surface-to-Air model launches the unique ClayCopter spinning prop targets made from biodegradable, non-toxic materials that fly in ways a traditional clay never could.
Powered using an included Caldwell 12 Volt Li-Ion rechargeable ultra-compact battery pack, capable of up to 300 launches on a single charge, the ClayCopter Surface-to-Air features an embedded panel to program all its advanced features, such as oscillating and wobble functions that can be independently adjusted to fit the shooter's desired challenge level.
Additionally, the ClayCopter Surface-to-Air target shooter can be operated from up to 100 yards away via Bluetooth connection with a free-to-download Caldwell Clays App. Advanced features include pairing up to 10 other Surface-to-Air or Claymore Connect throwers, voice control for hands-free launching, presenting of target pairs, customizable flurries, and more.
MSRP on the US market is set at $549.99.
