KJI K500 Aluminum tripod
KJI Precision’s new K500 aluminum tripod is built to be lightweight but capable, and fully compatible with the Reaper Hellbound series of accessory interfaces
A few months after its official introduction at the 2026 edition of IWA OutdoorClassics in Nuremberg (Germany), KJI Precision’s new K500 tripod is finally here: a precision tool built to meet the needs of today’s hunters and sport shooters who need a rock-solid stabilization platform that will keep their rifles nice and steady for accurate long-range shots while at the same time remaining lightweight and compact enough to be carried around without too much hassle even in difficult conditions.
A specialist in this kind of accessory for over a decade, KJI Precision decided to settle for an aluminum construction that would strike a good match between overall weight and performance, without having to resort to more exotic or high-tech materials such as carbon fiber, which would have an influence on the final price tag.
The KJI Precision K500 tripod features numerous CNC machined and anodized components; right out of the box, it feels like a capable and sturdy, high quality product. The three legs, each comprised of four decreasing diameter segments – 26 mm, 22 mm, 18 mm and 15 mm – can be extended on three levels: the overall height ranges between a minimum of 76,2 mm (3”) and a maximum of 1368mm (53.9”), with intermediate levels of 156mm (6.1”), 288mm (11.4”), 450mm (17.8”), and 835mm (32.9”).
This makes the KJI K500 aluminum tripod adaptable to any kind of terrain and any shooting position; with each leg extendable independently from the others, and given the variable leg angle – 23, 55 or 83 degrees depending on the level of extension – the KJI K500 aluminum tripod can easily be used either on sloped terrain or flat surfaces, from a hunting blind, or on a shooting range bench as a more stable alternative to classic rests or bags.
All this, in a product that tips the scales at barely 1,4 kilograms (3.1 lbs) and yet boasts a maximum load capacity of 36,7 kilograms (80 lbs) – which is more than enough for any hunting or long range shooting rifle, camera, spotting scope, laser rangefinder, and more.
On top of that, the KJI Precision K500 aluminum tripod is barely 486 mm (19.1”) long overall when folded; shooters can easily move around with the tripod collapsed and folded still attached to their rifles, without any issue in terms of maneuverability in harsh terrains or confined spaces.
Compared to many competitors, the KJI Precision K500 aluminum tripod is astonishingly easy to use: KJI took care to avoid getting out an overbuilt, over-burdening, and overly complicated product. After all, this kind of tripod is meant to be used in situations where a hunter or shooter may need to deploy and use it in seconds.
And just like that, the machined and anodized aluminum twist locks are knurled for easy tightening in low light conditions, or instinctively. The rubberized feet mounted from factory are easily replaceable with three issued steel spikes for better support on the dirt and in uneven or sloped terrains.

The KJI Precision K500 aluminum tripod is sold in a storage bag and comes issued with 3mm and 5mm hex keys, and two threaded accessory mounts – ¼”-20 and 3/8”-16 respectively – for full compatibility with a long list of heads and other accessories, particularly those offered by KJI.
Given its intended destination, the K500 aluminum tripod is the ideal companion for the KJI Reaper Hellbound grip head, manufactured out of aluminum and polymer and featuring rubberized anti-marring padding surfaces, compatible with a vast majority of hunting and sport shooting rifles except for those with wide F-Class type handguards, and offering full 360-degrees pan capabilities, an 87-degrees downwards tilt angle and 22 degrees of upward tilt.
Also compatible with the KJI Precision K500 aluminum tripod is the Reaper Rig accessory plate: weighing in at just 113 grams (¼ lbs) and manufactured out of aluminum, it can be installed alongside any other KJI grip head and features numerous guides for the installation of accessories, either directly or via Picatinny rails. The Reaper Rig plate will allow you to keep a spotting scope, laser rangefinder, or action camera right besides your rifle, and boresighted with it, to help you take that perfect shot when seconds count or to document your actions when necessary.
