Launched one year ago and already highly appreciated, the Sabatti Rover family of bolt-action rifles expands with three new models
Redesigned from the ground up in 2022, the ROVER line of bolt-action rifles is the mainstay of the Sabatti product line, a perfect incarnation of the company's tradition in product quality and accuracy with a broad range of configurations available to meet the needs and modern taste of hunters and sport shooters from all around the world.
The CNC-machined ERGAL-55 (7075-T6 lightweight aluminum alloy) receiver and the robust steel bolt with three sturdy locking lugs make the Sabatti Rover action one of the best available on the global market. Along with the plethora of available configurations and extremely competitive price tags, this allowed the Sabatti Rover line of rifles to immediately become a great seller both in their homeland Italy and abroad.
At the EOS 2023 show – to be held in Verona, northern Italy, on February, 11 thru 13 – Sabatti will announce the expansion of the Rover line with the launch of three new models: a series-produced version and two models from the Sabatti Custom Shop.
Sabatti Rover ALL AROUND
The new Sabatti Rover ‘All Round’ is a compact bolt-action rifle built around a black polymer thumbhole stock that's both ergonomically-friendly and lightweight, weighing in at barely 2,9 kilograms (6.39 lbs) and featuring a closed-cells rubber buttpad to help tame recoil.
Available only in .308 Winchester, the Rover All Around features a 45 cm / 17.7" cold-hammer forged Sabatti MRR barrel with a 19 mm muzzle diameter and a Sabatti standard trigger, set from factory on a 1,2 kg / 2.64 lbs weight. Just like all other Rover rifles, the All Around model features a machined Picatinny rail for optics on the receiver – a full-length rail in this specific rail.
Sabatti Rover CARBON 'Custom Shop'
A Sabatti Custom Shop dedicated creation, the Sabatti Rover Carbon is an ultra-lightweight hunting rifle built around a carbon fiber stock. The Rover action comes with a deep-fluted bolt and a cold-hammer forged, blued, and fully fluted 56 cm / 22" Sabatti MRR barrel. The Sabatti Rover Carbon hunting rifle is available with a set trigger whose weight ranges between 1,4 kg / 3 lbs (direct pull) and 300 grams / 10.5 oz (with the set trigger engaged).
The monocoque stock is the centerpiece of the new Rover Carbon Custom Shop rifle: hardly compared to anything else currently available on the market and based on Sabatti's own, patented design, the stock is manufactured out of a single block of high quality carbon fiber. Results are almost incredible: the Sabatti Rover Carbon Custom Shop bolt-action rifle weighs in at barely 2,5 kg / 5.51 lbs when empty, and is available in five popular hunting calibers – .270 Winchester, 6,5 Creedmoor, .308 Winchester, .300 Winchester Magnum, and 7mm Remington Magnum.
Sabatti Rover VARMINT 'Custom Shop'
Yet another Sabatti Custom Shop creation, the new Sabatti Rover Varmint bolt-action rifle was specifically conceived for sport shooting, and as such it features a fully fluted bolt with three sturdy locking lugs, a heavy cold-hammer forged Sabatti MRR barrel with a 20mm muzzle diameter available in 51 cm / 20" or 61 cm / 24" configurations, and Sabatti's own, famous Match trigger, set from factory to a 600 grams / 1.3 lbs weight.
The aesthetically pleasing, competition-oriented laminated wood stock of the Sabatti Rover Varmint rifle features a vertical pistol grip, an adjustable cheek riser, a rubberized buttpad and an M-LOK metal interface plate for bipods embedded underneath the handguard.
The Sabatti Rover Varmint bolt-action rifle weighs in at 3,8 kg / 8.3 lbs and will be available in .308 Winchester, 6,5 PRC, 6,5 Creedmoor, and finally .223 Remington: a perfect caliber for a Varmint rifle, which had long been absent from Sabatti's catalog despite being very much sought after by shooters worldwide, owing to its versatility and vast availability of fairly priced commercial loads.
