New for 2026 from the Davide Pedersoli company – Italy's specialist in historical replicas and modern re-interpretations thereof – is the Kodiak Survivalist .44 Magnum: an Express, or double rifle, a mainstay of traditional European hunting, redesigned into a compact platform for battue hunting, particularly hog hunting, offering versatility and effectiveness at short range while retaining a traditional look and feel and a classic style that will no doubt appeal to a broad range of customers.

Built around a finely case-hardened receiver and a set of blued twin 18-inch barrels – offering quick follow-up shots and maneuverability in the thickest brush – the Pedersoli Kodiak Survivalist weighs in at barely 2,65 kg (5.84 lbs) thanks to the relatively small caliber that allows the action to remain compact.

The Kodiak Survivalist double rifle features a single-action double trigger connected to twin internal cock-on-open hammers, with a top tang sliding safety located just behind the opening lever.

The handguard and stock are manufactured out of oil-finished walnut, with finely engraved and checkered slip-proof grip panels and a rubberized buttplate.

The Pedersoli Kodiak Survivalist double rifle comes from factory with a flip-up leaf-style rear sight and a bead front sight. The receiver is, however, drilled and tapped for a Picatinny rail with an embedded flip-up green fiber optic rear sight, allowing the use of modern optics; a replacement red fiber optic front sight is also available.
