Auto-Ordnance Thompson lightweight carbine in .22 Long Rifle
SHOT Show 2026 – Auto-Ordnance introduces a lightweight semi-automatic carbine based on the Thompson design and chambered in .22 Long Rifle, using modified Ruger 10/22 magazines
New for 2026, Auto-Ordnance Corp. – a Kahr Firearms Group brand – brings back the long-discontinued rimfire variant of the iconic Tommy Gun back to the market with a twist.
The new Thompson Lightweight Carbine, chambered in .22 Long Rifle, is blowback-operated, built on an aluminum receiver, and feeds through rotary Ruger 10/22 style magazines inserted in a Thompson .45-caliber stick magazine body to preserve the form-factor of the original.

For the same reason, the new Thompson .22 lightweight carbine features a finned barrel and a furniture set – vertical foregrip included – in the original design, albeit in polymer with fake wood veneer. Only concession to modernity is a top Picatinny rail, which is however removable.
MSRP for the US market is set at $999.
