After its first official introduction at the 2026 edition of SHOT Show, the new Rhino 60DS .44 Magnum double-action revolver from Chiappa Firearms makes its formal debut at IWA OutdoorClassics in Nuremberg, Germany.

Essentially a beefed-up version of Chiappa's quintessential Rhino design, rescaled and reinforced to handle the hotter .44 Magnum cartridge safely and without a hiccup, this new revolver retains the original Rhino's technical layout – including a SA/DA trigger with an internal striker and a faux external hammer crest that dubs as a manual cocking lever – and its signature barrel aligned to the bottom cylinder chamber, to reduce muzzle climb and felt recoil.

The extra-large frame of the Rhino .44 Magnum revolvers and its barrel shroud – with wide ventilation ports over the barrel and underneath the top Picatinny rail for optics – are manufactured out of high-strength alloy to reduce overall weight. The barrel and cylinder are manufactured out of steel; the hexagonal shape of the six-shots cylinder helps reduce width.

The Rhino .44 Magnum also features a set of fiber-optic sights – fixed front, adjustable rear – as well as an underbarrel Picatinny rail for accessories and a black rubberized, slip-proof and ergonomic Hogue grip.
