New for 2026, Davide Pedersoli – Italy's prime manufacturer of historical replica firearms, focusing on muzzle-loading replicas – introduces the P1805 Baker rifle, a correct replica of the rifle created by gunsmith Ezekiel Baker in 1798 and used by the British army as their first ever rifled-bore gun, complementing and replacing older smoothbore muskets, in six different versions from 1800 to 1837.

Pedersoli's replica is a perfect reproduction of the 1805 model, historically documented as having been used by British  sharpshooter Thomas Plunkett on January 3, 1809, during the Peninsular War, to inflict a deadly wound to French General Auguste-Marie-Francois Colbert from 300 yards away – a testament to the Baker rifle's stellar inherent accuracy for the standards of the day.

Pedersoli's 1805 Baker rifle features a PMG barrel with a 1:12" twist rate, a bayonet lug, an adjustable rear sight, and a walnut stock embellished with brass fittings. The lock is manufactured out of solid steel, CNC-machined for maximum precision, and sports a full pitted or "old silver" finish for superior era aesthetics.
