CZ 75 Legend pistol: the legend is back
SHOT Show 2026 – CZ introduces the CZ 75 Legend, a 100% faithful replica of the first short-frame CZ 75 model
An astounding announcement came at SHOT Show 2026 from CZ - Česká Zbrojovka announced the launch of the CZ 75 Legend 9mm Luger semi-automatic pistol – much to the delight to gun enthusiasts worldwide.
The new CZ 75 Legend is a perfect clone of the original CZ 75, designed in communist Czechoslovakia by brothers František and Josef Koucký for export purposes; more specifically, it is a perfect clone of the first incarnation of the CZ 75, also known as the "short frame" model, manufactured only from 1975 to 1980 and considered today to be the first modern 9mm service pistol, or "Wondernine for short".
There are no concessions to modernity in the CZ 75 Legend – it is identical to the original down to the screws, so much so that if the frame didn't say "Made in Czech Republic" instead of "Made in Czechoslovakia", one would be hard-pressed to distinguish the two. With such a pedigree, there's no doubt that the CZ 75 Legend will quickly become a top seller shortly. As of today, however, no MSRP has been announced yet.
