Vortex Optics introduces new Triumph HD 10x42 binocular
The Triumph HD 10x42 is the new entry level binocular from Vortex Optics, offering all the best features, performance and quality levels that the brand and their sport optics are known for without even getting close to breaking the bank
The already vast market of general observation optics for hunting, sport shooting, outdoors, camping, navigation, bird-watching and utility optics grows of yet another interesting alternative: the Vortex Optics Triumph HD 10x42 binocular, the company's new entry-level, budget-priced offer for light-duty glassing.
Manufactured in Asia but engineered by Vortex, the Triumph HD 10x42 binocular offers the reliability and quality levels that the brand and their sport optics are known for while remaining extremely affordable for the individual users: the manufacturer's suggested retail price on the US market is set at $149.99, but the street price can already be as low as $100 as you read this article.
Introduced on the US market on June 1st, the new Vortex Triumph HD 10x42 binocular is built on a rubber-armored, Nitrogen-purged body that is 14,9 cm / 6.1" high, 12,7 cm / 5" wide, and weighs in at 649 grams (22.9 oz): a compact, lightweight package thanks to the HD roof prism optical system, built with optimized glass elements that deliver exceptional resolution, cut chromatic aberration, and provide outstanding color fidelity, edge-toedge sharpness, and light transmission.
Additionally, all air-to-glass surfaces – chiefly the lenses – on the new Triumph Hd 10x42 binocular sport anti-reflective coatings to provide increased light transmission, for greater clarity and low-light performance.
The Vortex Triumph HD 10x42 is also extremely simple to use: a center wheel at the base of the bridge adjusts the focus of both binocular barrels at the same time, while the diopter dial located on the right eyepiece adjusts for differences in a user's eye. The fixed 10x magnification, 101,8 m / 334' linear field of view and 6.4° angular field of view make any other adjustment redundant.
The rubberized eyecups can be twisted up and down to adjust for a more comfortable viewing, making the Triumph HD 10x42 binocular perfect for users who wear eyeglasses.
The 17 mm eye relief, 55mm - 75mm interpupillary distance and a close focus of 4,6 meters (15.3') also make the Vortex Triumph HD 10x42 extremely comfortable to use, without needing to adopt odd positions.
For additional stability, the rubberized body of the Triumph HD 10x42 features slip-proof contact surfaces on both sides, is set from factory to use a neck strap, and is compatible with a tripod adapter, allowing use on a tripod or car window mount.
With the Triumph HD 10x42, Vortex Optics definitely aimed to launch a "light duty", general-purpose binocular with a low learning curve, for a wide and general audience, and not a special-purpose tool like many other optics that bear the Vortex brand nowadays.
And yet, even with its budget price and elementary features, the new Triumph HD 10x42 binocular is just as reliable and sturdy as any other Vortex Optics product, with O-ring seals stopping moisture, dust and debris from penetrating the binocular for reliable performance and preventing internal fogging over a wide range of temperatures, and a shockproof construction designed to withstand the highest levels of impact.
The Company puts so much faith in the quality of the Triumph 10x42 binocular to cover it with their legendary lifetime VIP warranty.
The Vortex Optics Triumph HD 10x42 comes from factory with a comfort neck strap; a set of tethered objective lens covers and separate eyepiece lens covers; a lens cloth; and a Vortex GlassPak binocular harness and case.
