Browning Ammunition: the new products for 2022!
SHOT Show 2022 - Browning Ammunition expands and upgrades its line of hunting, defensive and sport shooting loads with a plethora of new entries for rifle, shotgun, and handgun shooters
At the 2022 edition of the SHOT Show, in Las Vegas, Browning Ammunition announced the launch of numerous new products to add up to their already vast catalog.
Whether you're into hunting, sport shooting, long-range shooting, or looking for the perfectly reliable load for your personal or home defense pistol, you can be sure that you'll find something within Browning Ammunition's new products lineup to suit your needs.
For sport shooting: Browning Pro 22 and .350 Legend
The new Browning Pro 22 .22 Long Rifle were specifically conceived for target shooting; they are produced through precision manufacturing techniques and meticulously loaded, and go through strict quality controls to ensure clean, reliable operation and repeated accuracy.
Browning's Pro 22 rounds are designed with a lead round nose bullet that expands into lands and grooves for optimum bullet stabilization; the target case crimp minimizes bullet jump into rifling to improve accuracy. Browning's Pro 22 loads are also subsonic, thus preventing transonic bullet destabilization which causes accuracy degradation.
Also new for 2022 are 60 rounds bulk packs for Browning's .350 Legend loads – a caliber first introduced by Winchester in 2020 to provide .444 Marlin -type terminal performance in a straight-wall cartridge that could be used in AR-15 derivative rifles and carbines.
Perfect for both target shooting and mid-to-close range hunting – particularly on hoofed game – Browning's .350 Legend 124 gr FMJ loads offer a muzzle velocity of 762 meters per second, or 2,500 FPS. That's the highest muzzle velocity recorded on any .350 Legend load on the market.
For hunting: new rifle rounds and leadless shotshells
New for 2022, Browning Ammunition is also offering a plethora of hunting-specific loads, both for shotguns and rifles, the vast majority of which being leadless, giving the steady phasing-out of lead-based ammunition for hunting purposes more or less worldwide.
New for 2022 is Browning Ammunition's 12-gauge and 20-gauge Wicked line of hunting shotshells, all featuring a rear-stabilized wad that improves choke responsiveness and forces the pattern into a straighter flight path, while at the same time pulling away from the shot string in a controlled manner for consistently tight patterns – at least 30% tighter than most competitors, a must-have for waterfowling.
The Wicked line of shotshells is comprised of three entries – Wicked Blend, Wicked Waterfowl and Wicked Waterfowl XD – which feature a premium-plated steel shot, a bismuth shot load, or a combination of the two depending from the intended use.
Similar in concept, but dedicated to another type of game, are Browning Ammunition's TSS Turkey shotshells, only available in a 12 gauge, 3.5" variant and featuring a Duplex tungsten load, 60% denser than lead to make sure that no turkey out to 70 yards can actually survive the encounter.
For long-range, big-game precision hunting, Browning Ammunition introduces two new Long Range Pro Hunter loads in the increasingly popular 6.8 Western and 6.5 PRC calibers – this last one being particularly suited for long-range shooting sports as well.
Both loads feature a Sierra Tipped GameKing bullet, a renowned option among demanding shooters worldwide, offering optimal jacket wall thickness to control expansion and retain weight, and a polymer tip embedded in the hollow point to expand the lead core instantly upon impact.
The new-for-2022 6.8 Western and 6.5 PRC entries go on to beef up a line that already includes loads in popular hunting calibers such as 6.5 Creedmoor, .270 Winchester, .300 Winchester Magnum, .300 Winchester Short Magnum, .308 Winchester, and .30-06 Springfield.
For protection: Browning X-Point Defense
Last, but not least, Browning Ammunition's new X-Point Defense loads in .380 ACP, 9mm Luger, .40 Smith & Wesson, .45 ACP and 10mm Auto aim to obtain a (well deserved) place in the market for service and defensive ammunition.
Browning's X-Point Defense rounds feature a formed metallic hollow-point ball for consistency, toughness and reliability; Browning's patented X-Point technology protects the hollow point against clogging, for consistent expansion, penetration, and rapid energy transfer to the target. The new Browning X-Point Defense loads are sold in 20-rounds boxes.
