Within the Weapon Integrated Lighting Device “WILD” series of tactical torches realized by Inforce Lights, the Inforce WILD2 being the most powerful.
Built around a MIL-STD Type III black hard-anodized, 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum body, the Inforce WILD2 is designed to be used on full-sized and mid-sized service and defensive handguns, and is 8,9 cm / 3.5” long overall, features a 2,8 cm / 1.1” diameter bezel, and weighs in at barely 135 grams (4.7 oz) including the two CR123A batteries it’s powered by.
At the rear of the body are two flat paddle switches, integral to the battery seat port, easily reached by the shooter’s right or left index finger, allowing operation of the WILD2 and navigation between the different emission levels and available modes.
A quick pressure on either paddle will activate the WILD2 on constant mode, while a prolonged pressure for over ½ second on any paddle will switch to momentary activation – the weaponlight will stay on for as long as pressure is applied to either one of the paddles and will automatically switch off upon release.
A specific procedure, highlighted in the user manual, also allows the activation of strobe mode.
Users may also follow a separate procedure to engage a Lockout mode, which will prevent the Inforce WILD2 from switching on in any circumstance until it’s reversed, thus allowing long-term storage or transportation without fear of accidental activation that may drain the battery.
The mounting interface of the Inforce WILD2 weaponlight consists in a removable screw-on clamp with a bar rail, which can be detached and reinstalled in a reverse position to adapt the WILD2 for use on MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny rails or Glock pistol universal rails.
Battery life for the Inforce WILD2 will vary depending on the selected mode and output level: at the highest – 1.000 Lumens and 25.000 Candela of peak beam intensity – it can be as low as 90 minutes (1.5 hrs) of continuous runtime, but with a 316 meters (1036 ft) beam throw, you’re guaranteed to positively identify your target way before your battery runs dry.
The Inforce WILD2 is shockproof, drop-proof, and water resistance up to 20 meters (60 ft.) in depth; single-handedly, it allowed the Inforce brand to take on the market of aluminum weaponlights and its biggest players such as Streamlight or SureFire at a fraction of the latter’s price tags.
